Monkeys and Mongoose

-
-
St Lucia, a photographer's paradise.

I say it again,  one does not even have to leave the town proper to see wildlife and get some great memories photographs,  even with only a cell phone camera. Here on the other side of the park, were vervet monkey and Banded mongoose. The adults tended to ignore each other but there was a little interaction between the species amongst the younger animals.

A young mongoose caught a toad and before he had two bites his big brother stole it and ran away. I did get some video footage on that. It will be added to the stock we are collecting for our videos called , From a Different Angle.
I was wondering about the lack of snakes around town before I saw the large groups of mongoose that live here. I seldom find snakes where there are banded mongoose. The scarcity of toads is now also explained.
Here are a few more places for you to stay, when you come visit!
